Life of a off-line CPU

Would the CPU be killed by moisture? If I wanted to keep a CPU offline,
do I need to keep them dry and cool?

Don't see the harm in that, do you?

But I think you might--I could be wrong--but you might get better
performance if they were cooled by liquid nitrogen. Expensive though.

I bring old stuff back up regularly. Nothing special ever done to them
other than protection to keep wasps out.
High moisture could in a worst case scenario could cause corrosion on
the contact pins. But nothing more. If you are storing these in a high
humidity enviroment you might wanrt to store them in a bag with some
rice or a packet of desiccant.
Many computer builders I have met just keep everything in shoe boxes, no
protections of any kind. They take em out, plug em in, and they work. So
you don't need to overthink it too much.
