It seems that the lamp (White cold-cathode Xenon Lamp) of my CanoScan
FS2710 is dead after near 3000 scannings.
Is it normal?
Does anybody know how many hours is the life of a 35mm scanner lamp?
If I buy a DiMAGE Scan Dual IV or a DiMAGE Scan Dual III, am I going
to have the same problem?
Thanks
Guillermo

P.S.: Canon Argentina is having problems to obtain the replacement
part and Canon USA say "Regrettably, this part is not available for
purchase from Canon in the
United States" so if anybody has any solution, I will really
appreciate it.

Yeah, I bet that if you sent it in for repair and paid their fee, that they
would have a lamp in stock!

Post some more information about your bulb (lamp). A .jpg would help also.
