Licensing problem...?

Hi,
I have a W2K server that was a stand alone server and had local user
accounts set up for NTFS permissions for the files/folders on that server.
This was all set up before Active Directory was running. Now in AD, this
same server is now a member server. All of the local user accounts have
been deleted and recreated on the domain controller as domain user accounts.
When I go into the Licensing manger on the DC, there are still licenses
being used by these old local user accounts that have been deleted. I have
revoked them several times and the keep coming back. All those user
accounts were deleted over a year ago. How can I get those to go away
permanently?

Also in the licensing manager, is a server that is no longer on my network.
How do I get rid of that?

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,

To reset the License Manager information:

1. Stop the License Logging service.

2. Delete or rename the following files on the primary domain
controller or the enterprise server: Cpl.cfg Llsuser.lls Llsmap.lls

3. Restart the License Logging service.

4. Re-add the appropriate license information.

Frankly, I'd just stop and disable the license logging service and keep
track of licenses manually. The service is buggy and isn't mandatory.
