Hi
Have purchased a copy of Windows XP, supposedly
legitimate. How can I check it is OK ?
I would prefer to do it before installing. It's supposed
to be allready registered.

Because the Product Key is not stored on the CD there is no way tell if it
has been previously activated without installing it. Even then if activation
occurred over 120 days ago there is still no way to tell. If you install it
and when prompted to activate you find that activation doesn't go through
but you are informed that "The activation center could not be reached." then
you will have reasonable grounds to believe that it has been activated
within the past 120 days.
