Hello guys,
I have a Windows 2000 Server, non-TS domain controller SP-4 (non advanced
server but I'm hoping that won't matter). I started getting system messages
in the event log stating that I hard run out of licenses. I went into
licensing and I realized that I indeed went over my licenses by almost 200%.
I looked into it further and found that the server was still holding
licenses from 2002-2004. Many of the users/computers were using licenses
yet they don't even exist anymore.
I thought Windows would revoke the licenses automatically after 3 months or
so (maybe more?). Is this behavior normal, and do I really need to go an
revoke my old licenses manually to keep myself in check?
Thank you,
Mike Chavez
