Hey all,
I'm hoping anyone can help me because i've got a really annoying problem.
The problem started when i tried to install some new drivers for my mouse.
the install crashed and ever since that i couldn't use my mouse or keyboard
(not even in save mode).
I could still use them during bootup so i installed windows on a different
hd. Then i installed older mouse drivers. The idea was to copy back the new
drivers folder to the original windows version and fix everything.
too bad i screwed up i accidently copied my entire system 32 folder back
to my original windows version (i went to get some food so didn't notice my
mistake)
Now when i want to log in to my original windows it tells me i have to
activate it (i get this message even before i log into an account) I can
ieither press yes to activate or no to ignore the error. When i press yes it
logs into the account for like half a second and then logs out again without
activating windows again.
This happens all the time except when i start windows in safe mode without
networking. (system restore didn't work )
This means i can't get into my original windows directory with all the
correct settings/drivers/updates and all that stuff.
FYI: i've got a legal win xp home edition copy.
any ideas?
