LG forte manager?

I see that a number of LG monitors don't have any OSD, but instead rely
solely upon forte manager software in order to adjust brightness and
contrast and any other parameter. However, I see reports about that
software not functioning without problems, and additionally requires IE6.

So are those adjustments equivalent to the adjustments offered by most
graphic cards drivers?

I suspect they are not truely equivalent as the graphics
driver effects the image before it gets to the monitor while
the monitor software likely controls what the monitor does
to the image received. So they could be complimentary to
each other, or one making the other redundant, but generally
graphics drivers don't have the adjustments a monitor does
except for the brightness and contrast, maybe gamma as well.
