Have a lexmark Z715 for a couple of years, photos are dark. The skin tones
are too brown. Is there any hope that this printer can produce good photos?

In order to get quality output from most inkjet printers requires some
calibration processes take place. There are many areas in the workflow
where problems can occur, which may not even be the printer at fault.

For instance, the problem may be that your monitor is showing the colors
too light, not that the printer is going too dark.

Under any circumstances, what I suggest for now, is you simply try to
lessen the saturation, and/or increase the brightness, using either a
image manipulation software package (like Photoshop, or Elements or
lesser cost packages) or do something similar using any control options
within the printer driver (some hide these in an advanced set of menus).

I should mention Lexmark inkjet printers do tend to be a little less
robust in terms of their driver accuracy and option, relative to others
like Epson. or Canon, or HP.

Also, use of refill inks or odd papers can alter the colors on the image
result.

Thank you, Art, for your input. I shall look for advanced options. I have
tried to lighten the photo with Adobe Photoshop. That still produced photos
with burnt orange skin tones. One modification suggested by Lexmark tech
person gave me a bright red photo caused a loss of comminication to my
printer. I am beging to think this printer with it's high end ink costs just
isn't able to print photos.
