lexmark z640 help

I am having problems getting this printer to work with Vista. On the
packaging it has a sticker saying the printer is compatible with Vista but
when i try to print a test page i get an error message saying there is a
problem with communication between the pc and the printer. All of the
cables, cartridges and paper are in position.

Any ideas?

Did you make sure you got the latest drivers from the Lexmark website:
http://www.lexmark.com/lexmark/sequentialem/home/0,6959,204816596_1019285789_0_en,00.html

If you've already installed something, uninstall and reinstall as per:
http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article_One.htm
(written for XP but same procedures apply to Vista)

Thanks for replying, i've now installed the latest driver and the printer
works ok.

Thanks for correcting driver problems. Just follow installation instructions
and be printing
in no time at all! ( I used 1200 series driver, just look for your
printer) Later.
