Lexmark X85 printer malfunctions

90% of the time I try to print something, I get the
following error message: "Printer unable to communicate
with system." On-screen instructions suggest unplugging
the USB & power cables, then restarting the computer.
Sometimes, this works; usually not. I have performed
the "uninstall/reinstall," which didn't seem to correct
anything. And hence the dilemma: why does the printer
arbitrarily function perfectly one day, but fails
completely three days later? HELP!!!

Hi Gregg --

I know this isn't terribly helpful, but have you tried contacting Lexmark's
support about a better driver for this device? It sounds like a bug in the
driver is bringing the print spooler down, causing the printer to disappear.
