I get this error, and everyone seems to find it helpful
to say uninstall/reinstall the printer. If you dont have
the printer and have had this error, please dont
respond... the uninstall/reinstall only solves the
problem for 1, maybe 2 prints, if at all, then it comes
back up with the same error. Lexmarks only advice is to
download the same driver that is on my cd, and instal
that, which of course, does absolutly nothing. Does
anyone have this printer running 100% on XP? If not Im
sending it to lexmark for a refund due to faulty
advertising.
.
Sorry 2 hear of your problems...ive been in the same
boat....and i have been able to fix it....
first off dont waste your time with lexmark they will not
refund your money. i no first hand.
First yes, you must uninstall your x63
then you must remove a few keys from your reg
click stat run and type regedit then ok
after this
look for H_key_local_machine and click the plus
then look for the systems folder and click the plus
then look for currentcontrolset and click the plus
then look for Enum and click the plus
then look for usb and click the plus
highlight the usb folder and click edit at the top of the
window and then click permissions
in this window make sure you click all the allow boxes
and then apply then ok
now your back in the reg editor
look for and delete these items under usb!
Anything that starts
VID_043D
or
VID_0000
when they are removed restart the pc
start install as normal (im sure you have done this a few
hundred times)
hook up the usb when asked...and you should be ok
It worked for me
i wish you the best of luck
