I have a lexmark printer, and when I installed its software I think I
caught some bogware; now I see three services running called, eg,
lxbbbmgr, lexpps.exe. Is there any easy cure for this bogware ? My
printer is not only not turned on, it is not even plugged in to the
wall outlet or to my computer, so it is really a waste to have this
bogware running now :(

Go on the Start menu and click Run. Type "msconfig" and enter it. Now go to
the "Startup" tab and un-check the pestware. Next time you turn on your
computer, it won't start with Windows.

I returned a Lexmark printer because of lexpps.exe (I don't recall the 2
other services you mention). To the best of my recollection, unchecking
lexpps in msconfig or removing it from your startup sequence (I'm not sure
it's even there) will not prevent it from running. First, use MSCONFIG to
remove Lexstart.exe from the Startup tab list (keep LexmarkPrintTray). Then,
rename lexpps.exe in safe mode (or at a DOS prompt) to lexapps.exe.old to
prevent it from ever running again.

BTW, lexapps.exe allows your Lexmark X or Z Series printer to be shared over
a Windows peer-to-peer network using the conventional method of setting up a
shared networked printer (without it, you will not be able to share the
printer using the conventional Windows method).

For reference the lexmark spyware, or lexmark bogware, or whatever
that I see consists of:

LEXBCES.EXE, running as SYSTEM
LEXPPS.EXE, LXBBBMGR.EXE, LXBBBMON.EXE, running as current user

That is not spyware. It is used for the ink level indicator. You can turn
them off. I too own a Lexmark, and have turn these items off with no
problem.

Are you the guy who wrote it? Wonderful--how do I turn it off?

(Usually one cannot find who wrote the warez, so one has to rely
on rumors and allegations as to what is really spyware and what
isn't, unless one is willing to go to great lengths to reverse
engineer, and I'm certainly not.)
