From the Lexmark site
Q: How do I end participation?
A: Enrollees can easily end participation anytime.
1. Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Lexmark 810 Series > Lexmark
Solution Center.
2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. Select Lexmark Connect to end your participation.
No to the ps, you have to opt in, you can register and uncheck
the Connect box to opt out, or do it as above.
Or do what I do, just block it at your firewall, or use a
GOOD install/uninstall monitor that lists ALL changes
and produces a readable text log of files installed, registry
changes, then identify the call home and delete or
block it at your firewall.
Thanks for responding.
My printer is a different model. I don't have the Solution Centre. The
nearest I have is the Service Centre, which is not the equivalent.
I have a 'customer experience' folder and the files 'Lexmark Connect'
and 'Product Registration'.
I was wondering if the following would be a good solution:
Simply right click on say 'Lexmark Connect' and change the permissions
from allowing 'read and execute', and 'Read ' to denying both. Then do
the same for 'Product Registration'.
If something doesn't work that should, I can always change them back
As for the firewall idea, I would need IP addresses. Might be easy for
'Product Registartion' because it occurs on the manufacturer's site.
But 'Lexmark Connect' runs from my machine, i.e., the file
lxdppswx.exe seems to run the connect programme.
Let me know what you think.
Best wishes
