Having a problem with initial setup on a Lexmark 3150 All-In-One (printer,
scanner, copier). The software installs OK but then I get a message saying
"Preparing Lexmark All-In-One for first use - searching for scanning
applications", which just sits there. As I have a lot of files on my
machine, I tried leaving it alone (overnight!) but nothing had changed.
According to the Task Manager this process is using 99% of CPU resources.
I have tried removing an reinstalling the software several times, including
in Safe Mode. I have tried killing every other app and process that is
running, I have downloaded an updated driver from Lexmark's site - all to no
avail.
My computer has an AMD Duron 1.3GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM and is running XP Home.
I have two other printers installed, a Lexmark Z25 and an Epson Colour 740.
Does anyone have any ideas about this problem?
TIA
