After installing Windows 7 RC Build 7100 my Lexmark 2500 stopped working. It
had played so well under Vista but it just quit and would do nothing under
Windows 7 RC. I called Lexmark tech support and the nice guy named Neal
verified Lexmark has no released or beta drivers for the 2500 under Windows
7. He then suggested I try the Lexmark 2500 drivers off their site listed
for use with Vista 64 bit. He fully understood I was using Windows 7 RC 32
bit. I installed those drivers and they work great!!!
I "almost" put Vista back on just so I could print with my local printer. I
was very doubtful the Vista 64 bit drivers would even install. They do and
everything works a treat.
Just wanted to share this as I found no mention of this fix via Google
searches or elsewhere. Hope it helps someone.
