How do I tell Outlook to allow certain attachments that I want to open, but Outlook has decided in its infinite wisdom that I can't because it is "potentially dangerous"? If this annoying featured isn't able to be defeated, does Outlook Express employ the same "mommy" principle? Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Outlook blocks these for security reasons. For more info see;
http://www.sparnaaij.net/faq/bloackedattachments.htm

For Outlook Express;
Tools-> Options-> tab Security-> option Do not allow attachments...

A registry entry lets you customize the list of blocked files. See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/getexe.htm#ol2002 for links to info and tools.

If you're the administrator in an Exchange Server environment, you can change the file blocking with administrative tools. See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/admin.htm
