Hi You All,
My issue is as follows :
I am working on a Windows XP Pro Desktop with Microsoft Access 2000
installed. Whenever I try to open an MDB file located on aremote Windows
2000 Server machine, I am denied the access to the file and it says that I
don't have the "sufficient level of security" to open such a file.
Same issue from a box w/ Access 2002 installed.
Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance,
Nicolas

Do you have read, write create and delete access to the directory? If
not, you need it. The fooler is usually the create delete requirement.
Access creates a new file when you open it in the same directory where the
database is. It is needed to keep track of various things.

The other possibility is the database may be secured. Read about that
at:

I suggest you start by reading

I've never heard of this message and searching the Microsoft
KnowledgeBase for "sufficient level of security" doesn't turn up
anything. Is this a translation of the original message? Please post
the exact text of the message you receive.

This may be a matter of workgroup or folder permissions, or it may be
the effect of a system security policy, about which I know very little.
