Letters on welcome screen

Hello group. I just know I'm going to kick myself when I know the answer,
but what do the letters signify on the welcome screen - between the box
where I enter my password and the green & white arrow (enter) icon?

Sometimes it says "EN" and other times "CY".

Sounds like the language indicator
- EN for English, CY is probably a language using Cyrillic chars
