Letter Q?????

My coworker, when typing an email, cannot type the letter q. It works in every field except the body. When he types q, it comes out like a blank space, and any letter one would type after it comes in blank also. If you higlight the letters except q, you can see them while highlighted, but if you highlight a q, everything appears blank again. Has anyone ever heard of this or know how to fix it.
 
Perhaps some joker set up Word to replace Q's with something else in the
"auto correct" options. This is more common around April 1, but I could see
someone doing it in October as well.
