It may be in the temp folder. I had the same problem

Hi,

Start/search/files and folders for *.iso - it shouldn't be too hard to find.
Many default downloads go to "My Documents". Next time pay attention to the
location where you select to download files.

Search for files larger than 2 GB, and make sure you are searching in
"System and Hidden" files and folders.

Make sure that you have enough disc space to download. At least double the
requirement

I did that already Rick, it should have downloaded to
D:/Users/Karen/Documents...but not there. When I try to re-send it; it said
it's already there!

Thanks Mark, I have opened all the hidden and system files and folders...but
I am not sure how to find a file by size...mostly self taught/missed that one
along the way!

1) Turn off hidden folders / systemfiles etc. in Controlpanel ->
folderoptions.
2) Log in as Administrator without UAC : rightclick Computer -> manage ->
users -> Administrator -> enable Account.

3) If still no success, try a search with a alternative filemanager like
totalcommander ( shareware : www.ghisler.com )

Vista has a trend to hide a lot of stuff from the users eye and move
downloads elsewhere in the Documents.

It was for me so disturbing that I used another XP-Machine to download the
Iso, in Vista it was impossible and freaking me also for not finding my
stuff.

Thanks Sascha...I still haven't found it, even though the download manage
said that it's there. I am either going to try to download to XP or save
myself the headache and grief and wait for the disk to arrive! Patience is
something I strive for!

I downloaded it from the website in about 2 hrs, the download manager said it
was successful, but I could not find it anywhere on my comp...I tried using
the search, manually opened the folder where it was supposed to be, searched
for *.iso, nothing...finally decided to give up on it, and d/l with my xp
partition, but d/l manager would only d/l the 907 byte file...uninstalled the
manager, tried again, same thing...I finally gave up, and am using my
browser...hope it works(so far so good) but man...WHAT A PAIN!!! Hope it's
worth it :-)>

Having experienced the missing download problem when downloading Vista Beta
2, using Vista 2 ( I lost the first download after a multiple hard drive
failure) I used Windows XP to do the download.
With using Windows Vista Pre RC1, I took the chance of downloading the RC1
hoping that the download wouldn't disappear after downloading it.
It worked, however the download went into a virtual folder, I think it was
under the Internet Explorer folder.

Thanks all for the help and suggestions. I did look specfically for *.ISO
files, no results. It was not in the Internet Explorer folder either!
Download manager said it's already there!

So last night, even though I can only run XP in safe or safe networking mode
I took a chance and downloaded it into XP. This morning when I woke up it
was completed (7 hours) and saved to my XP desktop. I copied the files from
Vista Beta 2; since that's where the ashampoo burning studio is and it burned
it perfectly. It appears as though all the files are there...2.52 gb...Now
I'll attempt again to repair XP boot files; delete Vista 2 and download the
RC1 to my logical partition...wish me luck!

Use Free Download Manager
Then download from your browser not that Akami
Im still looking for the akami one I download.
Free worked ok
