How come when I've emptied the quarantine in MSAS, items
still appear in the program's quarantine folder? Should I
delete them from the folder?
Thanks for helping.

I don't know the answer to this--what kind of date/time is on the items
still left?

I don't see any harm in deleting them, but it'd be nice to know where they
are coming from.

Well, 2 of them are 2003, 1 is 2001 and the other is
recent Aug. 2005. It is strange hat they are not being
deleted. My mosy recent quarantined file was there and
then when I emptied the quarantine (in the programme) it
had gone from the folder as expected , but the other 4
are still there.

kind regards Vanessa

This sounds like a situation in which the index to the folder content is not
synched any longer to the actual content. I'd be inclined to delete all the
content of the quarantine folder, and suspect that you will then see that
the index (i.e. how the program sees it) and the actual content will stay in
synch.

Not sure what broke this--but it doesn't seem significant, unless, of
course, some vital/valuable file is in one of those orphanned quarantined
files!

Well Bill I looked at the properties and 3 of them were
Dr Pmon print monitor but 1 is just letters and numbers.
Do you know what they are and if they are important?
Thanks Vanessa

I can't tell from this distance. Files are renamed when placed in
quarantine--MP3 files, for example, are still playable if you rename them
back to some name ending in .mp3

There's no harm in leaving them there, but if you don't feel you are missing
anything, there's probably no harm in deleting them either.

Thanks Bill
I am going to cross my fingers and delete them all.
With kind regards Vanessa
