Lengthy delays when Restoring network Connection at boot-up

I have a small network of pc's running 2000 Pro, and using
Client for Microsoft Networks. I have a shared drive on
one pc mapped as drive I: from the other pc's. Problem
is, when each pc boots up, there is a delay of up to 1
minute for the pc's to Restore Network Connections.

An annoying dialog box appears with a CANCEL button. Is
it possible a) NOT to display this dialog box and enforce
the re-map, and b) is it possible to speed up this re-
mapping upon log on. It was instantaneous on Win95/98.

What is probably happening is the W2K boots up he is looking for a DNS
server to map the drives. he has to fail through this before he map the
drives through wins or broadcast for them. Do you have an internal DNS
server that you point to?

I have my settings to Obtain DNS Server address
automatically, Append primary and connection specific DNS
suffixes, and Register this connection's address in DNS.

I don't use static IP addresses (set to obtain IP address
automatically)

What should I do.
Thanks
