Length of songs doubles?

When I import songs into Movie Maker, the length of the audio doubles. I've
tried converting them to/from MP3, .wma, and .wav format. Nothing works. Is
this a glich or is there a solution?
 
I had this same problem. It has to do with some MP3's having a variable
bitrate, WMM doesn't like that. Try downloading a converter program (I found
switch: http://www.nch.com.au/switch/switchsetup.exe to be a good one.).

Add the song(s) you want to convert, and hit "encoder options", change it to
constant bitrate, convert, and then try adding the song(s) to WMM. Should
solve it!
 
Oh my goodness.....you saved my ass tonight!!! I had to get this video done
for a client tonight and could not figure out how to fix the problem for 2
hours! Thank you so much Prophecy Girl!!!!
