Left double click on shortcuts doesn't work

Suddenly got a problem where a left double click on short cuts doesn't
work. In addition, left clicking items on the start menu doesn't work
either. Right click and run works fine. This happened right after
cleaning up a virus.

Is there a scrogged reg setting somewhere causing this?
