does anyone know how to disable/customize the XP power-up
feature where the shutdown system wakes up on a space key
hit or on mouse click?

I replaced my W2K system with XP OS. But, now when I shut
the box down (Start ->ShutDown real shutdown) the system
shuts down :-).

Then if I hit the Space on the keyboard or click my mouse
left button, the computer starts up, boots up and
everything... And it is only Space, not any key,
and it is not a mouse move, but exactly a left-click.

Has anyone seen this before? Any thoughts?

Sounds like a function of your BIOS rather than Windows. Check your BIOS
settings for "power on PS/2" options..
