"Enter Keyword or Web Address here"

This phrase appears on my address bar instead of the URL
in the first browser window that opens up, and I want it
to GO AWAY! Further, something appears to be snooping my
browser because I can't even post that phrase to a web
page--when I try to do it, it automatically redirects my
browser to my home page!

The phrase only appears on my address bar on the first
browser window that opens up. Subsequent windows don't
exhibit this behavior. Navigating to another page
correctly displays the URL for that page. Opening a
second browser displays the URL for the home page. It
doesn't matter how IE is launched: from a shortcut, from
the desktop, from a link in e-mail: it behaves the same
way on the first and subsequent browsers.

This may have come from the Google toolbar. I first
noticed it after I installed that, but I have uninstalled
that and unregistered (RegSvr32.exe /u) and removed all
the files that came with that from my computer (all the
ones I could find). But! It still does it.

The second problem, and this one is alarming, is that I
can't even post this phrase to a form using IE. Every
time I try to post this phrase to Yahoo, Google, or MS
Knowledge Base, it automatically redirects the browser to
my home page!

What is going on here? Is this coming from a URL handler
or a search helper DLL?

Thanks in advance if you can solve this.
