LED connectors on Adaptec controllers??

I've been noticing that newer Adaptec RAID controllers no longer have drive
LED connectors on board, which seems stupid to me.

For example, the 2410 SATA RAID controller, and the 2130 SCSI RAID
controller.

Is there a valid reason for this? Is there any other way to get a case's
LED flash when there is activity on one of these controllers?

It makes the controller a tiny bit cheaper. I agree, that it is
stupid. Not the only stupid thing I have noticed in Adaptec's
products in the last few years.
