You could be experiencing one of several possibilities:
-Corruped account settings or
-Corrupted profile
If you are using Outlook 2000 in Corporate or Workgroup mode, Outlook 2002, or Outlook 2003, then the
best way to test this is to create a new profile and set up your account. If this works, import your old data
and delete your old profile.
If you are using any other versions of Outlook(Outlook 97, 98, or Outlook 2000 IMO), then you would want
to remove your account and recreate a new account (make sure you have your account information:
password, username, account name.)

Subject: "leave messages on server" always "on"
I don't want to leave messages on the server. If I uncheck the "Leave messages on the server" box,
back out and close properly, send/receive, the messages on the server are deleted. However, the next
time I open Outlook the box is checked again and messages accumulate.
