I am running WinXP Pro at work. Outlook 2003 is set up as the pop3 mail
client for our isp mail host. I want to keep emails on the isp server so I
can look at them at home (I manually delete those I don't need on the
server).

I click on the checkbox to 'Leave message on server' which seems to work as
long as Outllok is running. Each time I start Outlook, however, this checkbox
is cleared and messages are deleted from the server after being downloaded.

Why does this checkbox not keep the setting? Thank you for any suggestions!

Sincerely,
Fred

Could be a problem with the mail profile. Create a new one and point it at
your existing data file. See http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829918

I have a similar problem with outlook 2003 except that "leave message on
server" for n days does not work if I leave my home PC running. It keeps
downloading message immediately from server. I have to turn off my PC to
keep messages on server so I can access them at work via my web mail. If I
turn off home PC & then reboot it, "leave messages on server" is still
checked, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions are welcome.
