Least expensive card to run Doom3 decently?

A 9800Pro - you *might* just be able to squeeze one in to that budget, but
make sure it's not a 128bit (as opposed to 128MB) version.

Thanks. I plan on running the game in 1024 mode, but will go down 800 if I
must.

Go to mwave.com and look at the Gigabyte Radeon
9600XT . It is $150. It runs Far Cry great, and would
run it greater if I would chuck this GA-7ZXE mobo.

Get at LEAST an GF5-5900XT ($170)... but you should also have a decent
CPU & RAM.... something like an AMD 2500+ / P4 2.6Ghz or faster, 1GB
RAM recommened. But a 64 CPU would be best....

OOPS... I was though I was in the other group (I have a 5900 as well)
- for an ATI - I'd still recommend going for broke and get at least a
256bit 9800Pro....

If you want the EYE candy - you need the power...

The GF6 6800GT ($300) and X800 cards ($400) are twice as fast as
yesterdays cards.... ATI needs a $300 card that can go against the
Nvidia line... cause when it comes to Doom3, even the $500 X800XT-PE
has trouble against the $300~350 GF6-6800GT. ;(
