Learning Spanish

I'd like to learn a bit of basic Spanish so that I can do something
other than smile inanely at the many Hispanic people who live in my area
There's also an element of self-defense involved...if I'm going to
continue smiling inanely, I'd like to know that when they're saying,
"Look at the dumbass anglo." :-)

Freeware, webware, whatever. It should have a way of letting me hear
how the words are actually pronounced.

Seriously, I did some looking into this and learning languages can take
quite a while. If you are looking for cuss-words, you may just ask
someone who speaks both languages and tape it.

is a free dictionary program with a very simple practice list but
doesn't have the sound you want.

I like it because it's simple.

shows a program that seems to do what you want but I *THINK* it may
not be free as stated. The buensoft site is so slow, hard to tell but
their is a (painfully slow) "order now" link at the top.

Let me know if you find a good one, I am interested too.

Sorry skip that one. It is not freeware unless you only want to learn
days, months and hello.

These are the free trial. It then requires downloads of other lists
which doesn't work for me (the site pages just don't load) so I can't
confirm for sure they are payware. I am in Peru right now so maybe
they blocked IPs from here, blocking non-rich world seems to be on the
rise right now from many shareware authors/cos.
