Hi, anyone encounter problem with this Leadtek DV2000 TV
card ? Cos it cos my PC (XP) hanged.

I have two different tv cards. One a older ati all-in-wonder and a second pc
has a pinnacle pcitv pro. Windows xp is by far the best ms os so far for
them but they still occasionally lock up for me. What I would do is a total
clean install of xp letting xp use it's built in drivers for the card, if
any. Then get all updates for xp then visit your card's site for the latest
drivers. Also XP seems to be the first MS OS that works better, at least for
me, to have the BIOS settings set to PNP=ON. My ati card was a total pain
from the day I got it years ago but with xp and the lates ati apps it runns
pretty well.

Good Luck.

I think I have the same tuner Leadtek DV2000
(Well its Leadtek, I know that).

I dont know whether its coz I use Hyperthreading
or not, that makes it hang. But on the odd occasion
it did hang. And um nope XP doesnt have
XP drivers for this card.

And well usually you're meant to install
drivers before hardware, but in this case, its the
hardware before the drivers/software! Otherwise
the drivers, or software wont install at all!

I tried the update program/drivers from Leadtek
and it still hung. So, whether I used the old drivers
(from the CD) or the new from the site, it didnt matter!

It froze the whole system and the only thing I could
do was to reboot. I couldnt do anything otherwise.

Mine is actually going to get replaced
(Its in the shop). And should be ready next week.

I did try it in a non-HT system, and it didnt hang once.
(When I turned it on with the remote, or within
the program itself).

So, with mine anyway, the Tuner software may not
like like Hyperthreading, on this system I'm on now.

But if turn off the HT to solve it, then like buying a
Ferrary and drive slow. Possible cos by DirectX 9.0B ?

One this is the lousy Leadtek software & driver. How can
the Win9x, WinME, Win2000 and XP all use the same drivers
& software ? Also, the poor software can only record TV
but cannot paused.

Regret buying Leadtek.
