Haven't used LDP for this function, but rather have used ntdsutil to clean
it up.

Depending on what sort of data it is (not sure what types they are but they
look like domain references?). You can use this as a guideline:

You can't and you shouldn't. There are a couple of different things
floating around the system that go by the name "meta-data". One, which you
can use ntdsutil to clean up, is the collection of objects that represent a
domain controller in the directory. Another, which you have displayed here,
is the replication version information about attributes on a particular
object. All objects in the directory have this latter kind of metadata on
them, as it is required for replication to function.
