Ldifde and importing users across domains....

I am trying to import a large number of users to
different child domains (ex. school.edu &
ex.school.edu). I can add the users to the school.edu
but it will not send to ex.school.edu. The latest error
message I get is "The server side error is "A referral
was returned from the server." Any ideas of how I can
get this to work with the ldifde command?

Would it be possible to see a sample record for each domain?
