LDAP Server

Is it possible to set up an LDAP server on other than a
Domain Controller? as we do not want to expose our DC to
the outside world but provide a secure LDAP service for
POP3/IMAP users...

Interesting. unfortunately, we only have Win 2000 servers
at present...
