I have windows 2000 and exchange 2000 and use Outlook xp. I cannot figure
out how to configure my Xerox copier to access the ldap server so that the
copier can send a fax or scan and send email to Outlook contacts.

The copier can send emails, but I have to manually type the email address.

The copier is supposed to be able to connect to my contact database to get
fax numbers.

Then you would have to ask them for support. We would have no way to know
about third party software. This group is intended only for the Microsoft
Fax products that integrate with Outlook (At Work Fax, NT Personal Fax,
Windows 2000 Fax, Windows XP Fax, SBS Fax).

Do you have LDAP enabled on the Exchange 2000 server? Can this Xerox
machine access other LDAP servers?

I am not certain I have LDAP enabled on the server, (how do I do this?). The
machine is designed to access an LDAP server. I haven't figured out how to
make it access any LDAP server.

The Machine needs the following info:

Primary LDAP Host Name and Port:
Alternate LDAP Host Name and Port:
Search Directory Root:

In the alternative, the machine can use
Primary LDAP Server IP Address and Port:

I don't know where to check the LDAP setting on an Exchange 2000 server,
however, on an Exchange 5.5 server, its under 'Configuration|Protocols' in
the Exchange Administrator program. For ideas on how to set the Xerox up to
use LDAP, a number of LDAP services are setup in Outlook Express
(Tools|Accounts|Directory Service). One or more of these services are still
in operation, use the OE settings for a service that works, plug them into
the Xerox, and see what happens.
