My monitor started acting up recently and I was wondering if anyone new of a
fix. The screen at random times will go brite then turn off. It won't be in
sleep because the power button never changes color. If I turn the monitor
off and turn it back on it may or may not stay on for very long. It doesn't
seem to be over heating and it doesn't matter what computer I connect it to.
It's a HP vs17 and it's no longer under warrenty. I have a feeling the
cheapest is to buy a new one but hopefully someone knows a fix for cheap :)

Thanks in advance grizz

My husband just fixed an HP Pavilion 1703 monitor for a friend of his with
symptoms like your has. If you google "HP Pavilion 1703 monitor blackout
problem", you will find the answer and the repair...there is one.

From what I read, HP has taken some of them back. I am assuming of course
you have the 1703.

Thanks I called HP and I'm out of luck. Mine is the vs17 and is not included
in their recall of sorts. I have wanted to upgrade to 19 or 22 for some time
now, I guess this is my chance just not an HP.

I did find the fix for the 1703 and I will try to see if it applies.
