LCD Monitor Inerference with MS Wireless Optical Desktop?

I am having trouble with erratic behavior from my wireless mouse ever since
I switched from a CRT monitor to an LCD monitor. I have heard that LCD's
can sometimes cause wireless interference.

Is anybody familiar with this issue? If so, do you have any suggestions for
fixing this?

So far I have tried changing the screen refresh rate on my monitor, but this
did not seem to help much.

The only thing that I have tried with any success is moving the wireless
receiver about 6 inches from the keyboard and mouse, but this is a pain.
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

Have never heard of the issue but that doesn't mean it isn't possible.

Suggestions:
Check the cord for the mouse receiver. Drape it so that it is not crossing
with the monitor's cable.

When I had my office setup differently, I had the mouse receiver on top of
the tower (it's back on the desk now). That worked and also moved it
further from the monitor screens.

Logitech suggest that the receiver should be at least eight inches away from
the screen and anything else magnetic.. I suggest that you look in the
manual supplied and see what MS recommend..

My assumption that my flat panel monitor may be causing some of the
interference was based on this article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;832321

However, I do not have the monitor listed in the article (I have a 17 in. LG
Flatron L1715S).

Unfortunately, I think I may be dealing with interference from multiple
sources. Some may even be from outside my house.

I'm guessing this because I seem to have the most trouble with the mouse and
keyboard at a certain time each night, and there also seems to be
interference present on a wireless baby monitor at the same time. This baby
monitor is located on the other side of the room from the computer.

When this interference occurs, I am able to get the mouse and keyboard to
respond normally only if they are about 6 inches away from the receiver.

Dose anybody have a guess as to what may be causing this interference? (My
best guesses would be a street light, cordless phone, or police scanner. Do
any of these sound reasonable?)

Thanks again.

I'd rather avoid the whole mess, and not have to erplace batteries, by
attaching a small wire that runs from the mouse to the PC.
