layout cell turn into a layout table

I've tried my absolute hardest to figure this out, but I just can't get
it...

Every now and then (I still haven't figured out what I'm doing to cause
this) a layout cell turns into a layout table. How do I get that green box
to go away?? How do I get it to turn back into a regular cell?? I could
leave it but then there is a table nested in the cell and I am trying
(however slowly and laborously) to learn keep the html cleaner looking.
Somehow in this situation I can never seem to find a "simple fix" - and it's
got to be there because it sure does "break" simply enough!! :)

Yea, unfortunately, I am learning that too late... Oh the joys of trial and
error, LOTS of error! :)
