Layered objects

Hi

I have another question. I often use many images layered one on top
of another in order to build a slide. One easy way to highlight an
object that might be deep in the build without having to strip all of
the other images off the top was to go into Custom Animation,
highlight the relevant object and that would produce 'handles' to that
object on the slide. It could then be easily deleted, moved or
brought forward/sent back etc.

This doesn't happen in 2002! Highlighting the relevant object in the
custom animation window mereley higlights its timing number. Anyone
got a cunning plan?

In addition to what Sonia suggested there is a button you can add to the
drawing toolbar, simply click on the little arrow at the end of the toolbar,
choose add or delete, drawing toolbar and right at the bottom their should
be an item you can add. I do not know exactly what it is called in English
but you can't miss it. When you use the button you will see a dialogue with
all the objects on your slide and you can select the one(s) that matter to
you. The only problem is that the objects have general names cirkle 1 cirkle
2 for instance which makes it difficult to select the right one. Upon
creating you could give them significant names though, right click the
object and choose format autoshape, select the last tab "Web" and put a name
in the large white box. You will see the name next to the object in the
dialoguebox mentioned above.
Once selected you can isolate the object by using the arrow keys, edit it
and move it again without altering the sequence of objects.
Hope this helps

Luc - that's SWEET.

The name in English is Select Multiple Objects. In PPTXP it's the second
item on the list when you choose Drawing Toolbar items in the customize
dialog box. To be added as a new FAQ shortly.

In addition to Web text, you also see text from text boxes and any text in
the autoshape itself, by the way.
Text in the autoshape takes precedence; if it's not there, then you see the
Web/Alt text.

Robert

It gets better. I bet you are now going to tell me that there is a
shortcut (like there is in every other graphics programme) to move
objects quickly and easily forwards and backwards through the
layers!!!!
