Launching music playback

Computer A is hooked up to an amplifier and speakers (it's an MCE box btw).

Compter B does a remote desktop into computer A. Can the user on computer B launch music playback on computer A to play through the amp connected to computer A?

Yes. Try run
mstsc.exe
then change the Local resources setting "Remote computer sound".
