Launch a program from an Outlook Appointment

Is it possible to launch an application when Outlook notifies me about an
appointment/reminder I have set up?

Yes - that's just what I'm looking for. Only thing is - at the end of the
tip it says 'When the appointed time for the reminder arrives, the file opens
if you use "always open this file" or pops up the downloaded file Open/Save
dialog.'

How do I use "always open this file"? A security warning pops up saying I
should save or cancel.
