I use WMM quite a bit and noticed that I have version 5.1. Is this the
newest release?

thanks!

Not if you're running Windows XP

That is the Windows OS version when looking at Help>About in WMM

WMM version is further down the list and is 2.1

Vista I know very little about except that WMM version is 6.0 or 6.1 I believe.

AFAIK cannot be used with Windows XP

Gord,
Thanks for the qui ck response. Yes i use Windows XP so if I understand you
correctly then my version 5.1 is not the latest?

If not, how do I update the software? when I click on 'windows update' on
my computer it does not find the software update.

Also, if I do update it will I lose all of my present project files?

thanks again!

Re-read my post.

===============================
5.1 is your version of Windows. If you look
lower, you should see...

"Windows Movie Maker Version 2.1.4026.0"

And...yes, that is the most current version of
Movie Maker available for Windows XP.

Your project files have the .mswmm extension
and should be found in the following location:
C:\Documents and Settings\>user name<\
My Documents\My Videos.
