After installing Microsoft's latest security patch (KB912919), my computer
has suffered many "freezes" for up to 20 seconds when trying to do things
involving browsing and even using Explorer. Has anyone else seen this
behavior?

MS put this patch on their support website several days before their
announced date -- did they rush it out without adeqaute testing?

Jay.

I have not seen this. In fact, some slow responses from keyboard
shortcuts I had been seeing intermittantly are now gone. (Probably
unrelated.)

I hope not!

Funnily enough I posted with the same problem at the same time. I uninstalled
the patch and everything went ok again.

Jay.

Yesterday I installed and then uninstalled that patch myself.

After installing it, suddenly Norton Internet Security 2006
became very flaky. Invalid memory accesses by CcApp.exe would
cause CcApp to crash, seemingly at random, leaving me with no
firewall protection.

I have no idea if the fault was mine, MicroSoft's, or Symantec's.
I have reported this to Symantec, with no response yet except
an auto-reply.
