Am I the only one who has noticed very unstable operation with the latest
alpha? I had to dl 1.7.5.

I personally lost interest in Mozilla some time ago, around 1.8a1 or so.
There was always a neverending series of bugs to be fixed, and I got
tired of waiting forever for them to fix them. Many are still not
fixed. And it's taking forever to get to the 1.8 release.

Looks like the problem in my case was some nasty old extension (ImageZoom).
I had to do some XML editing and restoring from previous backups and now
everything looks very much better.

That's good.. I'll probably try it out again when 1.8 beta comes out..

Just out of curiousity - why use the full Mozz suite when Firefox has
pretty much got all the bugs worked out?

Yep, I used Firefox for quite some time too. I've used FF, Mozilla,
Opera, K-Meleon, and others for years. Recently I just chucked them all
and went back to IE. Imagine that... :)

IE is horrid, it got so many security problems and it is so non-standard
in the way it works.
