Bob, do you find a noinstall version of the latest Maxthon on their site?

Never mind. I just ran Maxthon for the second time and it's nag screens,
aggrivating messages, etc.- not for me. I reloaded an older MyIE 2 to supplement
my old IE 5.01 when I need to look at an IE-coded page.

It nags ? That's bad, really bad. I'm still waiting for a non-beta release,
but if it nags, I'm sticking with MyIE2.

Maxthon nags exactly like MyIE2 did. The nag screen can be turned off with
one click and it never reappears. I have been using the beta versions of
maxthon and find it very stable.

Thanks for clearing that up.

What, then, is the reason to "upgrade" to Maxthon if MYIE is working well
(including all the time I have put in to add Links, extensions etc.)?

There may not be any compelling reason to change. Maxthon is basically the
continuation of the development of MyIE2. There has consistently been steady
development. The first Maxthon releases are the next steps. You can see the
history here to decide if you want to bother upgrading:

It should be noted that they do not recommend importing your settings from
MyIE2 (for example, by copying over the INI files) so 'upgrading' to Maxthon
will involve re-configuring. You may or may not feel it is worth the work. I
did it and am very happy with Maxthon. But I was quite happy with MyIE2 as
well!

Mike, something is bad wrong. Maxthon has no nags or messages at all. I
can't imagine what you're seeing. It works just like MyIE2.

It has many improvements. It works smoother and is easier to configure.
