You need to save your movie; the project is so that you can go back later and
re-edit if you need to. I believe you have just saved your file as a
project. If you have the 'task' pane showing on the left you can see where
it says Finish Movie, and the item Save Movie to My Computer. Or you can go
to the top and click on File and then Save Movie that way. If your are
going to burn your movie to a dvd, you should save the file in DV-AVI format,
which is one of the choices in Other Settings after you name the movie and
give it a location. DV-AVI will take up a lot of space but will provide you
with the best quality. If you have the space, you can also save the movie
as 'high quality-ntsc' which is what I do to watch it on the computer....and
then you can later delete the DV-AVI one after you make the dvd.
You need third party software to 'import' your movie, and to author and burn
your blank dvd with your movie. I personally like Ulead's Movie Factory to
do that....the basic one costs $50, and you can find it at
www.Ulead.com
........look for the std version which will give you a trial run if you want
to try it out first. There are many other programs too, so you could do some
research on them.....check out papajohn's site and wojo's to see other
programs.
I've tried quite a few others, and have several programs on my computer
(sonic, mydvd, click to dvd, avs converter), but I mainly use Movie Factory
to make my dvd's.
I'm assuming of course that you do have a dvd burner. In that case you
probably already have a 'dvd burning' authoring/burning program that came
with it....or with your original computer too....check to see if you already
have one before you spend any money.....if not, try out the Movie Factory
download. Good luck.
