Can't get my outlook 2003 to display my contacts the way I want. When I
create a new email message and select the "To" box to display the address
contacts, the list of contacts display in the order of first name, last name.
I need for them to display in the format of last name first, then first name
so that when I type in the first few letters of the persons last name it will
query the list accordingly.

Is this impossible or am I missing something here.

By the way, by just going into the contacts lists it displays the way I
want, by last name first.

Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or address
books>Next. Select Outlook Address Book and click Change. Set the sort
order at the bottom.

You can change the sort here: Tools menu > Email accounts > View/Change
existing address books/directories > Click Next > Highlight Outlook Address
Book > Click Change. You can choose First Name or File As for sort orders
