I loaded some Netgear software and apparently the drivers
were bad. The Windows would not start so, I
selected "Last known good configuration". When the system
booted up, the text was unreadable. Most of the test
looks like geometric icons such as boxes, lines, trianges,
etc. How do I correct this situation.

Hi

If possible, try a System Restore back to a point before you installed the
Netgear software. Failing that, try and uninstall the Netgear software.

You don't understand, I can't read any of the text because
its all geo icons (mostly). windows will boot up now but,
I can't read it in order to navigate thru the system. Any
other suggestions

Hi

Can you get into Safe Mode to try a System Restore? You can try an SR from
'normal' mode by typing or copy/paste the following into Start>Run:

%SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe

If needed, use WinKey + R to get to Start>Run

I am at work now but, I will try that as soon as I return
home. Thanks for the help.

Firstly, I would rather remove/uninstall Bad Driver, i.e. Netgear Driver.
You can do it by rebooting PC with Safe Mode
and remove device driver for Netgear.

(You do reboot PC with Safe Mode, doesn't it?)
Secondly, you had better copy hardware profile
(make extra hardware profiles) before reinstalling
new driver if you have any chances to malfunction with the new driver.
