Does anyone have a Hewlett Packard IIIP with a postscript cartridge?
I have acquired one and I know it works but the display does not. It
is currently defaulted to %Local Talk% which I cannot use. I need the
button sequence to change this setting to Parallel and perhaps the key
sequence to reset all of the setting to there defaults.
I don't have the operations manual and so far I can't find one on the
internet.
Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Hi Jim,

To change from serial to parallel interface, place your printer off line,
press menu and keep pressing it (and letting go) until "Device Config" is
displayed. Hit Enter (the key to the right) then hit Menu again until I/O
Serial appears. Hit + /- to change to I/O Paralel. Then hit On Line and
it should be in parallel mode. You can check by going through the above
again and it should show I/O Paralel when you get to the menu.

To change between postscript and PCL5 and back, with the printer running and
off line, Press <Plus & Minus>, and while holding, press <ALT> and <RESET>
together and watch the LCD and let go when the desired mode is displayed.

It's not exactly intuitive but there it is.

Regards
Barry

Thanks Barry,
But the problem I have is that the display doesn't work! I just need
the number of times you press the various buttons until you reach the
"Device Config" menu then again to change from "Local Talk" to
"Parrallel"
